Slow download speed Virgin Media Broadband
Any ideas on this?
I am downloading this 3GB file from Microsoft:

I have two connections, one with BT, one with Virgin.
I just tested my BT connection and it shows
Speed Down 2344.53 Kbps ( 2.3 Mbps )
Speed Up 374.08 Kbps ( 0.4 Mbps )
Port 8095

and my Virgin connection:

Speed Down 9565.08 Kbps ( 9.3 Mbps )
Speed Up 479.69 Kbps ( 0.5 Mbps )

Yet, downloading from Microsoft (file above) I am getting 289Kb/s from BT (i.e. it is delivering the tested speed), but only 65kb/s (the actual download speed is only 5% of what it is rated at by various speed tests) from Virgin.
When I tried last night Virgin was even worse, getting only around 36kb/s.
I have also noticed that Youtube is slow every evening (videos don’t stream real-time, long waits for buffering), and had put this down to problems with Youtube, but I guess Virgin are actually to blame.
Any suggestions as to what is going on?
