Why are Virgin so slow in adding to its HDVOD selection Virgin Media TV On Demand

I can’t remember the last time a new series was added in the high definition VOD section or in the more on demand section.

For a company that is allegedly concentrating on supplying VOD rather thatn linear HD channels, you would think that the library would me updated at least weekly.

Virgin will never catch Sky where HD linear channels are concerned, so why not hit them were it hurts and beef up the HDVOD section.

I got my new virgin media bill and i was not happy
as now virgin are now charging a paper bill with a £2.99 on top of the none direct debit. £5.00.

virgin think that the can have a team meeting and cume up
with ways to get more money from its custermas
virgin are out of order

all i have with tham is broadbard and home phone
and for tv its sky.

so whot have virgin got next to slap on to the bill.
do sky act same as virgin.

why dont they add the text that scrolls along while listening to digital radio (like the song name and contact details) to the mheg screens?

Adding new mailboxes to ex-NTL account.. Virgin Media Broadband

Haven’t been able to do this for a while now but does anybody know if it can’t be done by us ‘customers’ any more?
If I go to the selfcare page I don’t see the ‘add new mailbox’ option.
From this page, if I select ‘Set up, add or modify’ it takes me to an Apache Tomcat error page (the good old 404 error…)…
Any idea how to create one?

Adding a 2nd PC to a wireless connection Virgin Media Broadband

Hi
Any help much appreciated here.

Just obtained a 2nd PC which I need to be able to share my wireless broadband connection. It has Windows XP but no additional software installed on it at all except the default “Internet Explorer” E icon.
I’ve bought a new Belkin USB adapter for PC#2 and software has installed OK.

I have got a Virgin set top box, CAT-5 cable from box to Netgear box with aerial (is it a Router or Access Point ??), and my main PC has the Netgear USB receiver/adapter. This has worked constantly since 2004.

I’ve got PC#2 to recognise the signal from the Netgear kit (using the same Network Connection 4 and the TWxxxxxx number as my main PC) , and the signal is excellent, but cannot get any actual connection to the web.
If I open the tab from the system tray, it shows 11Mbps and signal excellent, and “packets” sent counts up, but “packets” received stays at zero ???

Does my 2nd PC need anything other than the new USB Adapter (I’ve tried installing the Blueyonder original CD from first installation but this stops as it can’t find a connection).

If anyone needs any more tech information please ask.

Why are Virgin Media incapable of adding up a bill? Virgin Media Broadband

Sorry but I’m getting quite fed up with Virgin Media. NTL all is forgiven!

I got phoned up by the sales department in August to upgrade my package – Phone L, Broadband XL, + TV L.

This I could have for £1 extra a month, no catches (I checked) bearing in mind I felt that it was overpriced before – i.e. £42.70 a month.

First month (September) fairly accurate at £47.86 as phone calls would have been added on top.

Last month (October) – got it wrong – charged £53.46 – phoned and complained – given a discount of £10.50 to go on tomorrow and was put on package I was supposed to be in.

Just checked bank statement – this month (and this is before the second payment goes thru at the end of the month) – £72.77

So angry – made the mistake of ringing now – got thru to India – he obviously hadn’t got a clue so put me thru to the moving house line and got cut off.

Rung back explained it all again and was offered a discount of £8.00 – I said I’d be ringing tomorrow to sort it out.

The money is going out by direct debit – always had 2 payments – they’d send a bill for one part (Phone etc.) and Broadband at £25 per month would have an email sent to me.

However I now only get a bill for the phone – no notification that they are changing the broadband amount – i.e. the £72.77 this month. Can they legally do this? Can I cancel my direct debit and pay by cheque for example? Any help would be welcome thanks before I ring them again tomorrow evening.

Adding TV to a broadband only service.. Virgin Media Broadband

I currently only have the Virgin 20MB broadband service.
Basically a white cable comes into the house, goes through the hall, into the garage and up through the ceiling to the room with the PC in. The cble goes into a box that seems to have two outputs. A cable is connected to one and that goes to the modem. The other (unused) connection is labelled ‘FM’. Firstly, what does this box actually do??
OK, main question.. if I was to add the TV package, what would Virgin actually do? Would they split the cable as it comes into the house and send that cable to a new set top box? I remember a while back where the broadband cable came from the back of the STB and went to the modem? Have I dreamt that or would they need to do that? Assuming they do split the cable. would that lower the signal or should TV and BB operate happily side by side…??….

Adding New Browser Virgin Media Broadband

I’ve just had broadband installed, and used Firefox for the registration process. I’d like to use IE (it’s 6.0) as well.

Firfox works OK (altho very slow) but when I try to use IE, I get this message on all websites.

Forbidden
You were denied access because:
Access denied by access control list.

Do I need to run the whole installation again to ebnable IE as a browser? Or is there an easier way.

Adding second PC to wireless router Virgin Media Broadband

My father in law has the Telewest broadband, TV and telephone package. His computer is connected via a Netgear router and he has now bought a laptop he also wants to connect.

Can he buy another Netgear receiver (or whatever the technical term is) for his laptop and connect to the internet via the same router?

I’ve read somewhere that Telewest have set the system up so he can’t.

How have they done this? Is there a way round it?

What file format does V+ use for HD, and is it possible in any way to transfer downloaded HD programming from a PC to a V+ box?
