Hi Wise people,
Just a quick question, I’ve recently purchased (as presents) 2 refurbished Nokia Mediamasters from Currys or somewhere similiar.
The question is are these boxes any good and will they get software updates and any potential new channels.
Thx
Slim

Yes, I also hope that this is not true.
But – as far as I can remember, Sky were one of the companies behind British Digital Broadcasting, which later changed its name to OnDigital (hence the reason we still have many Sky channels). Sky were along with BBC, Carlton Communications and possibly others.
If the rumour means that Sky are taking over OnD, then obviously this would be bad news – but if they are only becoming a shareholder again, then this need not be all bad.
Time will tell if there is any truth in the rumour.

I’m on the triple XL package which means I have XL TV. Do you still have to pay the £5 a month if you are on the XL TV package?

Hi, I have a couple of brown TW boxes on my house wall and fancy splitting the cable in the last to provide an extra cablemodem feed.
at the moment the box nearest the road uses a Digitap splitter to divide the feed into two coax cables, one goes through the wall into my cablemodem, while the othe carries on round the house to the tv inlet.
I fancy adding another splitter onto the last box to extend a feed upstairs.
Has anyone else managed to get hold of a low intermodulation splitter , ie through Maplins or similar? I had a look round but couldnt find a retail source. TW / BY obviously get all their Digitap ones in monstrous bulk from the UK importer.

…where would we be now?
Would Telewest have all the debt problems that plague NTL? Or would the fact that the two networks are compatable (something else that has plagued NTL) have lead to easy integration?
What do people think?

Is anyone aware of any recent acquisitions by US TV networks of UK produced shows to help plug the gaps in their strike hit schedules? Seems like a good opportunity for UK producers to try and get some kind of foothold, although I suspect that they may not have the right product for our transatlantic cousins.

In this Wikipedia article about TCC (Formerly The Children’s Channel) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Children%27s_Channel and in this one too: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of…nd#Coming_Soon.
it says that TCC is to return and come on air October 1st 2007. It’s owned by Flextech (now Virgin Media)
can anyone confirm this?
