OnDemand down in Kent? Virgin Media TV On Demand

Wednesday, August 12th, 2009

Hi Guys,

I think I am being told porkies by Call Centre in Bangalore. Basically I had a self install of VM TV on Thursday. Everything worked except OD. I used to have Cable before, so it was just a case of screwing in the cable already there into the back of the new STB.

I have had a 1059 error ever since for OD. Spoke to CS a few times, who have sent numerous hits to the box, but it still has not worked. On friday they said an engineer had been booked to swap the box on Monday. But later that afternoon I have a message saying the engineer has been cancelled as the IT Dept will fix my problem in 24hours.

Well it is now Sunday so I just called 151, who just dismissed my problem saying that my whole region has an OD problem which should be fixed in 24/48hours. I suspect this is untrue as I would have been told this in the beginning.

So is there an OD problem in Kent (I’m in the Sittingbourne area)?

Advice wanted, Prices up AND Discounts Down Cable

Sunday, August 9th, 2009

Should I expect more of my loyalty discount or being paying less for my service?

I don’t mind the extra £1 for TV, but they have reduced my loyalty discount at the same time!

This months bill is an extra fiver on what I usually pay! So am moving to e-billing for a start, but still want to either reduce or get bigger service (BB) I was satisfied with what I was paying before for the service, very happy, but now i’m annoyed.

Paying £46 (after discount)
BB L (£25)
TV XL (£23)
M PHONE (£11)
Weekend and Evening (£3.49)
Extra Normal V Box (£5)

Not massive overprice but the fact a new customer can have it for £51 with no loyalty discount means im only saving a fiver. Because they are overcharging me on BB and TV, but say its ok because of my really ‘big’ loyalty discount.

Speaking to retentions was just them saying ‘no you have best price, no you have best deal’ again and again really, even when I said well make the other box a V+ they tried to charge me £150 for it.

At least I’m near end of contract so can negotiate and shop around.

If in reality my loyalty discount is only equal to a fiver, surely they can do better?

DTVA needs a page up/ down feature Freeview

Wednesday, March 18th, 2009

With all these new channels, does anyone else agree that the Pace DTVA needs a page up and page down feature like the Sky boxes?

These could be mapped to the coloured buttons on the remote control and operate for both the channel list and the EPG.
