Pace DTVA Freeview

Wednesday, March 18th, 2009

Hi,
I just wondered if anybody can give me an idea of how good this box is and whether it is worth getting please?
Also, if I buy it there was an upgrade between 12th and 18th. What will happen as I won’t have it until after the 18th. Will the upgrade not be possible to get.

Also, why could ITV Digital have more channels than freeview is capable of holding.

Thanks
Nathan Sinclair

BBC2 in 14:9 with 4:3 broacasts with pace DTVA + sony widescreen Freeview

Wednesday, March 18th, 2009

Over the last couple of days, i’ve noticed that when watching BBC2 on my widescreen sony, when they are broadcasting a 4:3 picture (like the american version of the weakest link on right now) my Pace DTVA seems to be putting the TV into 14:9 mode, even if I manually select 4:3 on the TV remote and switch channels to BBC1 and back to BBC2, it makes the TV go into 14:9 mode. anyone else experiencing this? I think they are transmitting the wrong AFD code. 4:3 pictures on five and ITV make the TV go into 4:3 mode as expected.

Would it be possible that the, soon to be released, RF modulator from Pace that connects to the scart connector could be used on other devices that have a scart connection and not only the pace boxes?

Pace DTVA Timer & TIVO?? Freeview

Wednesday, March 18th, 2009

OK, the Pace DTVA’s latest software allows you to use a timer which I presume (not used it yet) turns the box on from standby.

Question is why bother with this?

Why not leave the box powered up all the time (disregarding the obvious current saving benefits )?

Surely this feature complicates any recording you wish to make ie, having to set the video and the DTT box?

Having invested in a TIVO yesterday I have discovered that I have to leave the DTVA powered up all the time in order for Tivo to function – it can change the channel ok but cannot wake up the box from standby.

So, should I be using the DTVA timer in accordance with my programmed Tivo recordings (which defeats the object really) or am I missing something blindingly obvious here???

Your informed opinions would be much appreciated

Using “One for All 4 Digital” with Pace DTVA Freeview

Wednesday, March 18th, 2009

hey!

I know simmilar topics have cropped up in the past, but i can’t seem to ge tthe search tool to cooperate.

I have jusy bought the ‘One For All 4 Digital’ universal remote control thingy with a view to using it with my tv, vcr and Pace DTVA. The thing is, there’s no specific code for this device in the booklet. I have tried the ‘OnDigital’ codes, and the ‘Pace’ codes for both ‘Sat’ and ‘Cbl’ boxes with no avail.

Before I set to using the ’search’ funcion on the remote, i wondered if anyone had expierence with this…. the helpline’s closed now.

Thanks, Z
