EMAP have now confirmed that they have won the right to launch a music channel on Freeview. They are using this opportunity to smash MTV.

It will be a new channel called Big City. It also confirms that the launch will be November.

I’ve noticed this week, and I have noticed the Teletext content today, but I’m not sure when they removed the selection numbers from the bottom of the screen and from Teletext. Surely if they are no longer going to have people phoning in to request music videos, how will they make any money? I’m not complaining though. It makes the screen look less cluttered with less screen furniture.

as EMAP is a large channel company i was wondering why is none of its channels interactive on ntl..are they on sky?? and do they have any plans for the future?? on their channels it says press the text button but never no mention of red button feature??

I remember a thread a while back about the rest of the EMAP music channels (Magic, Kerrang, KISS, Smash Hits, Q) joining The Box on ntl:home.

It was rumoured that they’d launch around this time of the year. Does anybody know anything further?

They ain’t all exactly my cup of tea, but I’m all in favour of greater choice.

Oh, and if anyone lives near Camden Lock, can they march into the MTV studios and slap someone until they take that Five Night Stand count down off of their channels? Ta! Wouldn’t be so bad if it was only there for a few days during the run-up, but it’s been there for *ages*.

I imagine that after the 5 night stand is over, they’ll have to tell us that there’s just 360 days to go till the next one ….

Ok people, the official word is 1’st december at midnight so you will have them all soon at last, shame kerrang isnt among all them.

Now that the EMAP channels are definately launching on Telewest, does anybody have any info on whether these are likely to come to NTL in the forseeable future?

After all, Barclay did promise ‘complete parity with Sky’ by the end of January.

I also read somewhere that NTL and TW were going to start jointly negotiating carrying channels.

Can anyone out there shed any light?

ntl have signed a deal withEMAP. and are get all the channels in the new year.

It’s nice to see that the EMAP channels have arrived and TW have apparently resolved their differences with MTV… but when are they going to start showing FilmFour +1, World and Extreme?

PS. Has anyone received their FilmFour listing guide lately?

Does anybody have any launch dates for the Emap channels on TW:AD? or even a rough date

With the loss of Rapture i hope TW get a move on and launch them in the next few weeks.
