The rebrand that never ends Freeview

Wednesday, March 18th, 2009

Has ITV Digital done anything except change it’s name? This huge “rebrand” was nothing more than changing to ITV Select and tweaking a few things here and there. For example, I ordered an ITV Active box last week. When it came, the only thing that reminded me that it was, in fact, ITV Active, was the coverslip over an ONnet cardboard box. When I opened it up, everything inside (the manual, the box itself, the graphics) said that it was ONnet. What was the point in the rebrand if they still refer to everything as ONdigital? They might as well of left it alone, it’s taken them long enough to make us remember it actually is ITV Digital.

Recorded, no sniggering, you read this far, this afternoon’s neighbours, end missing again. Any explanation for this. I am sure Neighbours was running on time, & the Goodies should have been as well for definite.

Telewest – Moving House before 12 month contract ends Virgin Media TV and Phone

Friday, February 20th, 2009

Hi,

I am about to move house for the second time this year for various reasons. I moved to my current address in January and transferred my Telewest service from my previous address at no charge. I believe that as part of this I had to start a new 12 month contract.

My question is that I would like to transfer my Telewest services to my new forthcoming address when I move soon. Will Telewest charge me because the current 12 month contract is still running or is there some way I can get around this when I move ? Maybe they’ll agree to let me off as I’m staying with Telewest and am happy with the service ? I have phone, 1MB broadband and Essential TV.

Any advice is greatly appreciated !

Thanks in advance,
Simon.

ISP’s confirm ‘2012: The Year The Internet Ends’ Cable

Is this story for real – I could understand how mobile internet could be restricted to WAP
only websites, but the real internet? Are ISP’s really going to charge a fee to view individual websites like making a phone call?

When your retention deal ends what will you do? Cable

Friday, February 20th, 2009

Seeing as many people got 3,6 and 12 months deals at below the selling rate of Virgins packages what are your plans once these deals end?

If Virgin tell you the full rates it charges for its services are fair enough after your deal will you stay with them or look for cheaper providers for the services you want.
Did you end up with a cheap retention deal simply because you found a better and cheaper provider elsewhere?

‘Burkett also poured cold water on claims that Virgin Media relies on offering customers discounts to retain their subscriptions.

He said the company was determined to hang on to its most valuable customers rather than becoming “fixated” with offering cheap deals to bargain hunters.’

Strictly ends early, BBC1 screws up Broadcasting

Friday, February 20th, 2009

How on earth did we manage to get into a situation where BBC1 in prime time finds itself with a live programme finishing early, and there was nothing to show for almost ten minutes except for just about every trail or promo on the server?

Surely a standby should have been in place to cover such an eventuality, even a five-minute filler of Outtake TV? Why on earth did we have to endure five minutes of endless trails; the announcer was more than capable of filling for that time.

Since Outnumbered has now begun early, I await with trepidation the next junction at 2205.
