Just wondered what peoples thoughts were regarding the the acclaimed “Better” offering Virgin have given as a replacement for the old Customer Zone.
We used to get:
– 10 free prints vis photobox each and every month.
– 3 free music downloads each and every month
– Encyclopedia
– Free games
– plus a few other bits n bobs
So now we get
– Free online storage.
– 25 Free prints a month (for 12 months!)
Now can someone please tell me HOW this is bigger and better than what the old customer zone offered?!
BTW VM, Not impressed that you decided to up the cost of my package by over 10% to boot!
I dont watch 90% of the XL package.
I dont use the landline.
I only really have the package for the V+ recoring function and BB.
Freesat might be on the cards at this rate.
Rant Over

I thought it might be interesting to document just what state your boxes are in. Scratches? Dents? Stains? Are they in a fit state to be resold to anyone?

Sorry I know there have been threads like this before.
I bought my box second hand and have no instructions. Could someone tell me how to program the remote to work with my TV and Video. I need the codes and how to put them in. I tried the pioneer website but couldn’t get the online manual.
I have: Fergusson TV
Alba VCR
Thanks in advance

My Ex-ITVD Pioneer DBR T210GN is no more, apparently.
It was working fine this morning. Now it sits there doing nothing.
The clock lights up, as though it’s been turned on and is about to find a channel but, it just outputs a blank screen with no channel.
After switching off and on at the mains, I can use the remote to make the clock light up and produce the blank screen, but it never does anything after that. It ignores the remote and won’t even switch off again.
Has anyone had anything like this with a pioneer before? I don’t suppose it’s possible that it accidentally downloaded an update for another manufacturer? (long shot,…. grasping at straws etc.)
It looks like it’s lost the CPU clock.
Is any of this familiar?

Ive whittled it down to these 2. Either the Pioneer ex ITV dig box or the new small Pace box.
What 1 do people recommend i get?. I can fix the problem of only having 1 scart with the Pace so thats not an issue. But is 1 much better than the other or what?. Thanks for any opinions.

HI,
I’ve read in the Dig Terr. forum that people are getting MHEG-based messages for some of the radio stations that have just appeared on digital terrestrial, as well as “please retune” messages on part-time BBC channels. Indeed Pace DTVA owners have been experiencing a “bug” when this siarts up on radio channels.
I have the Pioneer (18 months old) and Phillips (just bought at Argos for £80) ex-OnDigital boxes. Both have fully working interactive services that work fine (on BBCi, for example). However I have listened to BBC Radio 5 Live for the first-time on high quality (unlike on AM radio) buit nothing has been shown on video but a black screen once OnDigital’s channel name lozenge disappeared when I tuned to the channel.
No MHEG message on any interactivity – in fact a black screen – on radio stations on either box!
So am I getting confused, is the Pace DTVA stealing an MHEG march, or are both my boxes..er…old software?
If you have DTT are YOU getting any MHEG-based text content?

I’ve noticed Pioneer (silver) ex-ITV digital boxes for sale £60 – are these any good?
The only experience I had with ITV digital boxes was the Nokia (slow, locked up etc)
Is the Pioneer any good?, will it do everything I could conseviably want to do with the new free-view service? will it receive all the TV broadcast compression formats? widescreen? interactive services? digital text? no. of scart outputs etc? relyability? speed? problems? etc….
Opinions would be greatfully received ….

In October`s Television & Home Electronic Repairs Mag is says that the remaining boxes are in negotiations with 2 companies. ( It does not state which} So i bet that near the launch of Freeview Channels that we will have to buy them of the companies. That`s if it happens.

I’ve just bought an ex-ITV Digital Nokia Mediamaster 9850 T box from one of the leading high street chains – it works fine except that there’s no text and no joy after trying Auto Update.
They’ve got other ex-ITV Digital boxes which I might be able to swap it for – which one should I go for?
If I get a Pace, will it take the Auto Update that’s currently being broadcast on the BBC mux?
Or better still, was there ever an ITV Digital box on which the text was working from the word go?
