Forum so quiet Cable
Sunday, August 9th, 2009Do you reckon the its a sign that VM have vastly improved in level of service with the forums on here being so quiet.
It used to be so much busier but these days not much happens.

I’m one of these unfortunates who never seems to get bargains. Full price for everything, no discounts in shops, car dealers let me walk out of the showroom without chasing me with an extra deal and so on. There’s probably plenty of others out there in a similar position.
However I noticed that VM have promised to treat all customers the same and that new customers are offered Broadband L, TV XL and Phone M for £44 less £50 discount if they sign up for a year. This means that they pay £39.83 a month while I was paying £41.50 with Broadband M.
Encouraged by reading of forum members who had got deals from VM I thought nothing ventured nothing gained.
I was offered the package with BB L for £38.75 and eventually finished up paying £40.55 for BB L, TV XL & Phone L.
If it hadn’t been for the Forum & would not have thought to phone up, so thanks you all.

I hope this doesn’t preclude us from restating the fact that the ITV Digital management team were the most incompetent, arrogant, useless, out of touch bunch of tossers to inhabit TV land since the just as useless BSB crew, some of whom were involved in both fiascos.
And that’s saying something, I can tell you.
They threw away the UK DTT service in the most reckless way imaginable.
What if the same tossers were in charge of the change over to 625 lines, colour, widescreen, FM radio, DAB radio etc etc?
They would all have failed because of them and the obscene greed of second rate football bosses.
All ITV Digital boxes which might be returned, should be soaked in a bucket of water for 24 hours before posting…
It’s the least we can all do to get some small revenge on their utter and corporate greed, and give the ‘liquidators’ nothing.
They’ll get their fat fees up front anyway…
I rang ITV digital this evening following increase in subscription from £16.98 to £19.99 after being with them since August.
I explained to them that I had been a Sky Digital Customer since launch too & owned their box with a current subscription costing £28 for Sky Sports World.
I mentioned that the only reason I rented their box in August was the lure of the ITV Sport Channel & Cheap Pay per view,I was though now going to cancel because I begrudged the increase in basic package from £6.99 to £10, especially now that ITV 1 & 2 were on Sky & in this basic package I was really only paying for Carlton Cinema.
They listened & rather than pick up my ITV Digital box they have offered me the next 3 months at Free,£10 & then £13.
After putting the phone down on their costly 0870 number I realised I hadn’t made sure I weren’t being sweet talked into really still paying £20 over the coming months & decided to ring the ITV digital free sales number to make sure this deal would be honoured.
Anyway as well as giving me their word, they want me to ring back in 3 months & offer me the incentive of ending my package with Sky £28 [remember Free & Radio Channels would remain] & giving some of that over to ITV Digital & getting Sky sports with them at much cheaper cost.
I haven’t been with ITV Digital for a year yet & I’m being offered loyalty packages, where as Sky offer me sod all.
They were quite happy to accept my lowering from £34 to £28 a few months back without recognising me being a customer since day one.
Sky is easily the best option in picture quality & sound, but they are greedy bastards & dont offer any good deals to existing customers.
Its all going on silly £1 sign up deals on the internet to those who werent interested when Sky launched.
Thoughts?
I’m a happy bunny on the whole tonight, as one phone call has saved me £37 after just one increase out of my bank costing £19.99 when I was used to paying £16.98.
Hey what a super Forum Ive found here.
Hope I can get mine up to this standard.

I used to contribute to the notbbc.co.uk TV forum but now I have moved down to University I can no longer find it at that address (I had it bookmarked on my home PC) – can anyone help me to find it again?
It would be nice if once in a while an ondigital rep would actually pay us a visit.
After all we do pay their wages.
richardadc,
Please don’t be stupid. No-one is forcing you to read anything.
I can not believe the activity on the forum this weekend.
Surely this must be the best ondigital on the web?
Obviously text has been a major contributor to the site.
Any idea how many posts there have been this weekend? I’ve lost count. Must be 100+.

I think that it would be a good idea for everyone to post a reply under this topic to show how much you support this forum.
IT HAS HELPED ME GREATLY AND WITHOUT IT MOST OF US WOULD BE LOST!!
A simple “I support you”. Let the flames rise from this topic.
