Green Screen of Death! Freeview

Wednesday, March 18th, 2009

Many might be familiar with Windows Blue Screen of Death, but when I watched “Jag” I recorded from Sky One earlier this morning I experienced ITV Digital’s Green Screen of Death!

About 5 to 10 minutes before the end of the programme (as is always the way) the picture was lost and a blank Green Screen appeared for about 5 minutes before the ITV Digital logo came on and a message stating that the station was temporary lost, but would be restored soon, and that there was no need to contact Customer Services.

Has anyone else come across this “Green Screen” and does anyone know what happened in the last 5 minutes of “Jag”

Press Green if you don’t have ITV DIGITAL Freeview

Wednesday, March 18th, 2009

I had ITV DIGITAL or On Digital as it was then, and they did it then and they are still do it now, why on earth is there a link on the ITV Information Channel as it is now (it was there on On View) saying Press green if you don’t have ITV DIGITAL come on why would you ever put a link like that on a channel which only broadcasts on the Itv Digital Service?? Surely the people who are acccessing the channel have the ITV DIGITAL SERVICE!

Persistent green auto update banner Freeview

Wednesday, March 18th, 2009

Today my STB has decided that it is not enough to try and update itself on ch50 after turning it on.

It now wants to try on any ONrequest channel 50 – 55! No other channel, just these.

What a pain in the neck! It has never done this before.

Green Lines… Freeview

Saturday, March 14th, 2009

Re – the Pace update.
Does anyone have green lines corrupting the small video picture within the text pages? Some people seem to have them, others not. I updated my box via a laptop & the box’s serial port (I missed the first test, working in a TV station I was able to get hold of the update file) so I have a slightly different run vers. (ends in ‘09′ rather than ‘0a’) but this doesn’t seem to be the reason. If the over the air version is now permanent I’ll try it but I notice others with the aired version have complained of this minor blemish also. Our boxes at work seemed happy with either version.

Green horizontal lines with on demand service V+ HD

Monday, February 23rd, 2009

Just changed over to V+ box but have found problems when viewing on demand TV. Greenish horizontal lines appear and when the engineer called to investigate he claimed it was a compatibility problem between my Toshiba WLT66 TV and the Scientific Atlanta V+ box. Problem is to be passed up ladder for investigation.
Have any others had the same problem and possible fix.
