Anyone’s help would be very much appreciated

I’m not the brightest when it comes to things like this so forgive me if this seems a stupid question.

I have gone into the on demand bit where it lists all the programmes you can watch and selected this weeks Come Dine With Me.

The page comes up and tells me its free to watch, press ok to play

When I press ok, it asks me for a 4 digit pin number and says after 3 unsuccesful attempts my pin will be locked.

I’m only on freeview and as far as I know dont have a PIN number. I thought that when it said a programme was free to watch I’d be able to see it – I take it I am wrong?

I can still watch some programmes so I dont understand how to tell what I can watch and what I cant – can someone give me some guidance please?

Thank you

Basically they cut my mums phoneline off on 9th July.

They say she owes £300 odd from her previous bill, yet they actually owe us over £200. We had a call feature, but cancelled it. They billed us for it repeatedly even though we rung them numerous times and told them we had cancelled it, which they said that was okay. We thought nothing of it, kept using the phone and paying off what we used during that period.

Next thing last month the internet goes off and they say because of that £300 bill, even though they bloody owe us money.

I have tried ringing multiple times and they say pay it and we’ll be refunded in the next bill in a few months time. Yet my mum cannot afford to pay that and they are pussyfooting about, doing nothing. They said they would ring but haven’t bothered. I sent an email two weeks it has been ignored.

I’m thinking of going to my solicitor over this nonsense. Anyone got any tips?

hi we have been having a few pro...

hi we have been having a few problems with virgin over the past couple of months. It started when i moved out of my parents house and wanted to take the VM service with me as my mum no longer needed the BB or TV, so we ring virgin up they adv that we can do this and arrange a date, a couple of days before the move we get a letter with the details which say we have to take a new 12month contract, this was never mentioned in the call we made when we arranged it all.

another call to virgin confirms that yes it is a new 12month contract so because the contract would run out in june we decide not to go ahead with the switch they confirm that everything is ok and the service would be back on in my mums within 48hours(they had already switched it off as the moving date had to be changed due to the snow) things came back on the next day so i then sign up to vm myself(yes i know its a 12month contract but i got the deal i wanted as my mums was the xl phone which i had no use of so that was the main reason fo the change of mind also didn’t feel it was fair to add another 12month contract see as we still want to pay them each month they said we move you for free so you should happy with that. anyway back on track, the next bill my mum got was for £70(not the £22 it should be) so i ring vm for her who say sorry when it was put back on the person didn’t add the discount back on(it was a 12m loyalty disc from last june)

so they put it back on and amended the DD to what it should be. we think thats the end of it, roll on this month and the bill comes through for £90 £30 from last month and £70 charges for the service and a late payment fee also. so we call vm who say no they bill is correct you have no disc as you cancelled you service when you moved so we point out we never moved but because they switched the service off(a good few days before the switch was due) that means we cant have the same deal as before and if we want a new deal we need to sign again for 12months. spoke to a manager who wouldn’t do anything but put us on the lowest price £29 and give us £30 off the bill. now do we have anything we can do to be put back on the same price as before as this all seems to be a big joke from VM not happy atall with them after this. now add this to the fact that sky still wont stop billing me after 15months and that really does not leave me with much faith in paytv now lol.

any advice would be great, thanks

I am due to be moving home in a few weeks and wondered about taking my services with me. I definitely want to, but I just wanted to know whether or not VM charge for moving you?

Also I have heard a rumout that you cannot take your V= box with you, as they have to issue you with another for the new address. The website doesn’t say that at all, like I say it’s just a rumour, but I really want to take my same box with me as I do have a lot of things on there that I want to keep.

Cheers.

I’ve recently bought an old ITV Digital box from a car boot sale. (My first mistake!) It came with remote manual and mains.

It powers up but the first thing to appear in the STB’s display is “Retrying Update”. This scrolls past for a few minutes then, “Update Error” Appears, This continues indefinatly. I have never been able to get any picture information out of the box (No programmes, no menus) I’ve had it hooked up via Scart and RF but still nothing.

I’ve opened the box up to see if there was any obvious damage, old tea stains etc, but it appears to be brand new.

Can anyone help me fix this or sould I say goodbye to my £40 and go out and buy a new one?

Thanks in advance
