Just abit confused by the Hits

I think we all know/agree that Nelly and Kelly is the most played song by far!
buut….how are they not in the top 10 requested songs? or do they just get played when no-ones requesting??
I always thought the box was a farse so i might pay 75p to request a song to see if they will really play it!

This morning i realised that the hits had made a change to a few of there logos etc. the on screen logo and text has gone red, is it ment to be christmasy? but the interactive text (numbers to ring) has not changed.

Today i contacted EMPA (the makers of The HITS) and asked them why their playlist was so short and their other channels wher very long!!
They said that the list will contonuie to be between 30-40 till about 6 months time, this is due to little adverts they say, i dont know why, they also said that there would be the same amount of adverts as their other channels.
The HITS then said that when the list does get longer it will not include New songs, they say that the HITS is aimed at classic songs and artists.

The HITS then whent on to inform me that they hopefully will be launching a new channel on Freeview only in the new year they say it will include new releases and will be aimed at teens.

The HITS has also confirmed that their channel has currently more viewers that TMF.

i still cant receive the ftn or the hits channel i can only get 37 channels what is happening? every chance i get i also either add channels or store them to see if i can get the channels through..

Can anyone tell me what teh new ones are today?

At time of posting (16.18) there was no audio on the Hits on Tacolneston (or however you spell it). Anyone else get this?

noticed last night that there is now 42 songs on the hits. so at this rate, by 2005 it will be a decent channel with a decent number of songs! at least its improving – more songs and bits saying the top 5 voted songs and the new songs etc.

Will Emap ever decide to have more than 40 songs in their playlist? Because from what i see , every friday ,new ( well not so new) songs are to added in place of other less requested tracks.

Surely if there was a selection of 100 songs to choose from , The HITS would be a much better a channel.

But i personally think that Emap have abandoned the channel and are focussing on much bigger things like The Box and Smash Hits.
