I would like a definitive answer about coverage of Terrestial Digital. There are ‘pockets’ around the country that cannot receive the Freeview signal at all and it seems impossible to get any commitment from the transmitter owners when it will be enabled to carry such a signal. Stories have been circulated that the lack of a signal in this area (Eastbourne:Heathfield Transmitter) is due to the French using similar broadcast frequencies. If that is part of the problem, why are we worried, over the years, I have had to tolerate ‘interference’ from French TV stations on my TV reception I couldn’t give two hoots if our signals interfere with theres. It’s about time we stopped bowing to everybody elses wishes in the EEC and started thinking about our own people. If our signals interfere with them, then let the French change their signals for once – why does it always have to be us.

according to the freeview ad on bbc,i should be getting 30 channels .including bbci i can only count 24.any ideas?

My Pace DTR730-IM STB keeps “crashing”. I leave it on all the time put once or twice a week when I use it in the morning it shows a blank screen and the STB doesn’t respond.
The only thing that works is switching it off and then On at the mains.

Anyone out there got a better and more permanent solution?

Yes, you read that correctly – I am going to be appearing on BBC One. Of course I am as shocked as you are, but fame is fame and how could I resist.

It has nothing to do with DTT but you may see me on the DTT platform if you live in the Northwest of England and watch NorthWest Tonight. Alan Beswick has a consumer slot on NW Tonight and has decided to interview me because I complained that I had to pay £55 for a wheelie bin because I bought a new house…. The Local Council said that if I did not purchase a wheelie bin from them, they would not collect my refuse and therefore would have to prosecute me….. I was a bit furious so I wrote to the BBC and voila….

I’m a Peter Kay fan so expect a few references to things from Phoenix Nights and some of his stand up stuff….

I may even complain about the poor coverage of DTT?!?!

i have recently bought a second hand ondigital philips reciever.
what i want to know is how many and what channels are available on it and how i access the interactivity on fourtext,teletext etc

something that has always peeved me a bit.have been the reports,there’s too many not to be true,that when people phone up to cancel itv digital,they’re offered free this and that.i’ve always remained incredibly loyal despite the various faults and problems from time to time with the service.it was my initial natural instinct,to do what thousands upon thousands of others have done.when receivership etc. surfaced,i wanted to rush and cancel my direct debit,being alarmed at losing money,if it was going down.i personally am housebound through illness,so am obviously not working.therefore,itv digital is my most expensive outgoing by far and it pushes my finances to the limit.so,it’s with ever increasing displeasure that i read of all these inducements being given to those trying to desert ship.surely,loyalty must get some reward,the cash flow and advertisable numbers of the customer base help any possible sale of the platform.

…but where can I get one of those cool monkeys from!?

I’m not really too keen on signing up for a years worth of On Digital just to get one. Does anyone have the means to get me one, I’ll pay of course
