Channel Line-up Order has cahnged!! Freeview

Wednesday, March 18th, 2009

I have a Panasonic TU-CT20 Digital Converter Box and have been using it ok for the last 3 weeks!!

Yesterday the box wanted me to run the check for new services option which I did, from that point on all of the channels have changed order………. i.e.

BBC1 was on channel 1, but is now on channel 15
BBC2 was on channel 2, but is now on channel 14

and so on…..

What has happened? has freeview changed the order of the channel lineup or is the Panasonic box broken?

Any sugguestions would be welcome.

Many Thanks

why is the channel line up on freeview so poor? Freeview

Wednesday, March 18th, 2009

We dont need any smart answers like ” well its free isnt it” or “better than nothing “, but ……why have

3 news channels ( 1 is perhaps enough)
2 pop music channels (1 is again perhaps enough)
2 shopping channels ( zero is the right amount)

looking at sky digitals choice of free services , why cant we have

1)reality tv
2) tcm (where did it and Boomerang go)?
3) boomerang
4) classic fm tv
5) some of the better ’simplychannels’(nature/nostalga/einstein)
6)channel health
7)some asian channel for our asian friends

Thats seven better uses of the existing full time multiplex useage.

On line DTT box specialist Freeview

Wednesday, March 18th, 2009

I’m thinking of buying a second DTT box and came across this site on line which seems to offer a fair selection (when they get stock in!). Has anyone else used this company? Are they reliable?

Line 23 Widescreen Freeview

Wednesday, March 18th, 2009

Do any of the current boxes offer ‘Line 23 Widescreen switching’? I used to own a Nokia OnDigital box (I gave up my sub about 2 months before they went under…), and that was one of the best features for me!

Mark.

New Channel Line-Up Freeview

Wednesday, March 18th, 2009

After doing a “Store Channels” on my Pioneer box (Crystal Palace TX), I came out with the following:

1 – BBC One
2 – BBC Two
3 – ITV1
4 – Channel 4
5 – Five
6 – ITV2
7 – BBC Three
9 – Teletext
10 – BBC Four
11 – Sky Travel
12 – UK History
16 – QVC
17 – TV Travel Shop
18 – The Hits
19 – UK HomeStyle
20 – F TN
21 – TMF
22 – Ch 22
30 – CBBC
31 – CBeebies
32 – Ch 32
40 – BBC News 24
41 – ITV News
42 – Sky News
43 – Sky Spts News
44 – Ch 44
45 – BBC Parliament
46 – Community
50 – FourText
51 – BBCi
52 – ntl
71 – 1Xtra BBC
75 – BBC R5 Live
76 – BBC 5L SportsX
77 – BBC 6 Music
78 – BBC 7
79 – BBC Asian Net.
80 – BBC World Sv
81 – Smash Hits
82 – KISS
83 – Kerrang!
84 – Jazz FM
85 – Oneword

I then have channels called “701″, “702″ and “703″ (at those positions). BBC Parliament, Four and CBeebies (all at 64QAM) on 800,801 and 802.

I also have channels 803-808, all saying “Launches here Soon”, but with no names. I first assumed they were duplicates of another mux (as I can also recieve from Hannington TX), but if that were the case, the channels would be named. Does anyone know what these are, or what they are for?

The line up Freeview

Wednesday, March 18th, 2009

For the past few weeks users on this forum have been moaning about when freeview were going to start testing. Now that they have I have been looking at other threads and posts and basically we all seem to be moaning still.

If its not about the line up its about where the channels have been placed. For goodness sakes ppl get a grip we have half decent TV starting soon whats the problem?
