High Demand in My Area..4 days and counting. Virgin Media TV On Demand

Wednesday, August 12th, 2009

Video on demand, particularly TV Choice On Demand, for the last 4 days does not work and I keep getting a message stating the following;

Quote:

We are currently expeiencing high demand in your area. Please try again in a few minutes.

If this keeps happening, please call us free on 151. If you’re not a customer of our phone service see “Help & Info” from your Virgin TV Homepage for all contact details or check the back of your bill Quote 9132 when you call.

Can’t phone them at the moment coz they’re closed.

I’ll try again later during the day but they’ll just say the same thing again about capacity issues.

FilmFlex has over 500 films at my fingertips Virgin Media TV On Demand

Wednesday, August 12th, 2009

I tried looking for another thread having a moan about this, but I couldn’t find one. Apologies if I’ve been blind and missed it!

I’d just like to announce my remote flinging frustration at the TV on demand service late at night, with that FilmFlex advert running constantly. It wouldn’t be so bad, but it’s barely 20 seconds long!

“FilmFlex has over 500 films at your fingertips” … “or stay up late watching a thriller” … “FilmFlex. 500 films at your fingertips” … *cycles* “FilmFlex has over 500 films at your fingertips”

*throws remote control at screen*

It’s extremely annoying to hear this constantly when trying to sift through the endless amounts of ridiculously named CBBC/CBeebies content for something good to watch.

Is this a common thing? Or is there just something wrong with my box? (oo-er). I’d be surprised if everyone has to suffer through this. I mean, I’d have expected a lot more On Demand related fatalities by now.

My Virgin Media – Ex Customer zone Cable

Sunday, August 9th, 2009

Just wondered what peoples thoughts were regarding the the acclaimed “Better” offering Virgin have given as a replacement for the old Customer Zone.

We used to get:
– 10 free prints vis photobox each and every month.
– 3 free music downloads each and every month
– Encyclopedia
– Free games
– plus a few other bits n bobs

So now we get
– Free online storage.
– 25 Free prints a month (for 12 months!)

Now can someone please tell me HOW this is bigger and better than what the old customer zone offered?!

BTW VM, Not impressed that you decided to up the cost of my package by over 10% to boot!
I dont watch 90% of the XL package.
I dont use the landline.
I only really have the package for the V+ recoring function and BB.

Freesat might be on the cards at this rate.

Virgin Removed My BT Master Socket! Cable

Sunday, August 9th, 2009

I have been getting ready to ditch VM and go with Sky, however i have discovered something today which has but a hold on my leaving Virgin!

I wasn’t aware of the fact that i should have a master virgin telephone point as well as my old BT telephone point and not a virgin phone socket in place of my BT one! I have called Virgin today to enquire about this and have been told to wait while this is escalated to the installation team!

Has anyone also had a similar problem with Virgin or is it just me?

How much will my services be… Cable

Sunday, August 9th, 2009

Hi everyone. I am currently on the following plan.

XL Phone: £11.00
M Television: FREE
XL Broadband: £25

Now exluding installation I would like to upgrade to..

XL Phone: £11.00
XL Television: ??
XL Broadband: £25
V+ Box: ??
Extra V Box: ??
Extra V Box:??
Possibly an extra V+ box:??

Now the site doesn’t make sence really how much extra boxes will be and the upgrade wizard doesn’t appear to say prices.

I know I have alot of boxes listed, this IS possible as I contacted Niel Berkett (Spelling?) and was told high up, they’ll give us an exception.

Cheers.

Will my unused V+ box work somewhere else? Cable

Sunday, August 9th, 2009

Hello everybody and sorry in advance for this noddy question.

I have a V+ box ex of the Manchester ex-NTL network that is no longer in use. VM are showing no interest in collecting it.

My mum is a VM susbscriber on the ex-telewest network in Liverpool with an old Pace box.

Can I plug my V+ box in round there to get the recording functionality (but obviously not the HD channels)? Or are the units tied to an individual subscriber.

Failing that… is there anything useful I can do this with V+ box.

Please help me understand my latest bill. Cable

Sunday, August 9th, 2009

Hi.

I’ve been on the phone this morning to Virgin Media about my latest bill because I am having trouble understanding it. The language barrier on the phone was is a bit of a problem though, I think she was talking about last months bill in the end.

Total service charges £87.32
Includes VAT at the appropriate rate(s)

——————————————————————————–

Refunds and adjustments £-53.68
Description Date/period Amount
Goodwill Gesture 4 February £-50.00
Bill Correction Adjustment 4 February £-11.33
VAT Credit 24 February £-3.35

The £11.33 appeared last month and I had no idea where it had came from and neither had Virgin when I phoned them so they wiped it off. Now a £11.00 one as appeared and this is where I am getting really confused because I have no idea were these partial months charges are coming from.
