I have been thinking, with Sky Player going on XBox now and not BT Vision, do you think Virgin should reach out more, They could do a deal with Sony to get Virgin OD & Catch-Up TV on the PS3, This would be good for them to get out to new and existing customers, they could also get Setanta on board for the sports and Film4 & FilmFlex for movies, they could even get help from BBC, ITV, C4 by getting BBC iPlayer, ITV Net Player and 4OD put on, this would deffo be a better service than Sky Player as Virging have the best OD/Catch-Up around.
What do you think?

With a shiny new forum and a use it or loose it threat I thought it would be interesting to find out what people are watching or what hidden gems they have found via CUTVOD.
To start the ball rolling I discovered Peep Show, Studio 60, punkd and Criminal Minds via OD – I completly missed these when they were first shown on linear TV and would never have seen them were it not for VOD
I have also enjoyed watching Sopranos, Curb you Enthusiasm, DS9 and V the Series again. The BBC HD stuff is spectacular.

The previews for OD are currently down for me, and I’m shocked at just how much faster the system works when the Previews are off, anyone else notice this? And more so why are the previews off?

Quote:
Dance duo Signature, who came second in the competition [Britain's Got Talent], have been offered a six-figure to deal to become the faces of Virgin Media.
Suleman Mirza, 29, and Madhu Singh, 34, would front Virgin’s forthcoming “Bollywood on Demand” TV service.
The money would enable the pair to give up their day jobs – Mirza is a trainee lawyer, while Singh works in the Heathrow branch of PC World.

Do they do it monthly or is it just an as and when kind of thing?
I have watched the first 11 (I think) episodes of The West Wing as I never saw it originally and thought it was fantastic. Im just waiting now to see the rest of the first season.
I would just like to add that I think OD is fantastic and have never had a problem with it. However I would like to offer 2 suggestions to be ignoredMulti speed fast forward like we have for recorded content on V+
The ability to start watching at a certain point by typing in the time, eg. 4:25

I just got Virgin installed today at it seems that the OD service seems to have a “temporary” probably quite frequently.

I’m not the brightest when it comes to things like this so forgive me if this seems a stupid question.
I have gone into the on demand bit where it lists all the programmes you can watch and selected this weeks Come Dine With Me.
The page comes up and tells me its free to watch, press ok to play
When I press ok, it asks me for a 4 digit pin number and says after 3 unsuccesful attempts my pin will be locked.
I’m only on freeview and as far as I know dont have a PIN number. I thought that when it said a programme was free to watch I’d be able to see it – I take it I am wrong?
I can still watch some programmes so I dont understand how to tell what I can watch and what I cant – can someone give me some guidance please?
Thank you

Never watch a film using On Demand, because you can guarantee it will break up and stop half way through and then you’ll end up fast forwarding through to the bit where it left off.
Each time I watch a film, it jumps/stalls or the service breaks down altogether. I refrain myself from watching a film on VOD in the future as it’s so unreliable.

The reason I ask is that I was watching TV Choice last night and a reminder came up for a live programme, so I had to stop it and go back to it later on necessitating a long fast forward.
Would it be possible, do you think, for the EPG to tell you what you watched last? It would be even better if it could take you back to where you were, but I’m not sure it could do that without a major update.
I’d have been grateful if my last watched programme was listed rather than having to go back through the menus for it.
Do you think this would be useful?
What’s the situation with Filmflex? I haven’t rented anything for ages so I can’t remember if you can restart where you left off. What I do remember is that your rentals were listed for 24 hours. Same with TV Choice actually when it was pay per view…
Hmm… so has making OD part of the sub actually removed a very useful feature?
