AS the letters from G.T administratiors have started to arrive asking for £39.99 per ITV Dig box, can anyone whom has one try responding by way of ‘offering’ less than the £39.99 they want
Remember , nobody (even G.T as said on the BBC 5 Live interview thinks the boxes are worth £39.99), and if one were to charge a nominal storeage fee (as suggested previously) for safekeeping etc (at £5.00 per month x 7 months since ITV DIG collapsedthats £35.00) , offer them a fiver with explanation letter as to why. If they dont take a fiver will they take a tenner or Twenty.
As soon as we know the least they will aceept, then everyone will have a moral reason to pay a more acceptable fee. Yes we know they are worth SOMTHING, but what is that?
We need as I siad earlier some body with a letter already recieved to set the ball rolling.

they’ve moved around. BBC 4, cbeebies and cbbc are now in the 800 range.
Still can’t get anything else like, being in Hull is crap for any type of reception. Will this change with the power increase and 16qm mode change ?

Working within the trade close to electrical retailers and Aerial insallers, I can assure you On-Digital has very few friends. Aerial installers dont like its unpredictability in terms of reception, and dealers make bugger all from selling it.
Consumers get an even worse deal, paying pretty much the same for On digi ans Sky digi viewers, but getting about 20% of the service.
As one installer recently put it to me “its ok if your in a flat and cant have a dish, but otherwise youd be a right pillock to choose on over sky”
cant argue with that!

ok this is my story, i said in a reply to something the other day that i would post it, so here it is
i got ONdigital in july last year & i got a nokia box, i live in an area that ON say cant receive anything, dixons refused to give me a box so i had to go to radio rentals they after a lot of hassle eventually signed me up, i got it home plugged in, it was all fine i got all channels with near perfect reception only getting a little breakup on mux D channels when motorbikes passed my house(btw, i have a good aerial & satalite coax), anyway a few weeks agoi rang the tech department to ask about a buzzing sound that i get on text/games/info/subtitles/menu ect.. the person there said he had no idea what the prob was & told me to do a box-swap i vaguely said yes but 10 mins later i phoned to cancel it the person said fine, i since learned that the prob is due to my tv & not the box & is quite common with old tvs(surely the tech department should have known about this), anyway a few weeks passed & i got home from work to find my mother home (she had been away for a few weeks & i wasnt expecting her back so soon) & she told me that a man had just been 15mins ago to swap my box (why????) on opening the package i found a phillips-6370 wqhich apart from anything else was physicly broken(the front panel buttons were missing & there was a rattling sound)upon use i found the reception to be attrocious terrible, break up on all channels & to top things off my mom had given the guy who came my ONmail remote instead of the nokia remote. i phoned ondigital and was passed to a guy in belfast who was very nice, he got the guy to come back the next day with my ONmail remote (the guy tried to get him to bring back my nokia box but there was a little mix-up) so the guy in belfast arranged for a new nokia to be sent the next week he said he was filling in a form so that i would specificly get a nokia box. 1 week later & just before i got back from work a guy had been to do the swap IT WAS A PACE BOX i found although the reception was a lot lot better than the phillips it wasnt a patch on my nokia. i rang the belfast office & was told i would have to speak to technical as aparantley only they had authority to specify boxes as u may realise it is impossible to get through to tech, i spoke then to someone in CS who said she would try to get someone from tech to ring me back, a couple of days later(again while i was at work) a guy in tech rang & spoke to my mums boyfriend (apparently at the start of the call the guy in tech was adament i wouldnt get a nokia & by the end was a maybe) anyway a couple of days later i was asked to ring somewhere (i dont recall if it was CS, tech or belfast) and so another swap was arranged and instead of the usual 7 days they did it in 5 & so 5 days later a man came with my NOKIA box and now everything is fine reception is usually fine (although some major building work just started here so i’m getting a little breakup on more channels than i used to.
QUICK LIST OF BETTER THINGS ABOUT NOKIA BOXES
1. most importantly, FAR better reception, as i said i have far less breakup with nokia & to confirm this on the signal strength meter with both phillips & pace all muxes gave a 2-2.5 whereas with the nokia they all give 3.5-5(all the way filled)
2. S/P-DIF audio output
3. VERY nice looking & a nice remote

Sorry – this post should have been in the TV Travel shop topic, when I noticed I had started a new topic I tried to delete it to start again, but the forum wouldn’t let me!!, so before you all complain SORRY!!
OK TV Travel Shop maybe not the best channel to add but when its only on 6am to midday (accourding to rumours) is this really all that bad, is there any channel you could think of worth only broadcasting when most of us are at work.
And some people like my mum, are always looking out for the cheap holidays (and I don’t complain about them) if this helps her to find us some good cheap holidays then great!!!!

My brother has been having problems for three months with speeds. He upgraded to 10 meg but wasn’t given a new modem.
Its the scientific atlanta epc2100 r2
http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en…10+meg&spell=1
Getting speeds of 10-15KB/sec for last few months, countless calls. Emailed CEO and their office responded a few days ago saying a tech would call but they haven’t yet.
Is this modem ok for 10meg? If not, I assume it should still be able to get 2 meg?
The problem is in the exeter area.
Cheers,
Gordon

…is anyone else finding that YouTube is incredibly ’stuttery’ during the evenings?
If so, any suggestions?
It’s driving SWMBO crazy!
