Just recorded 8 hours of TV and the damn menu (the now/next menu) is on the recording!!
Is this a common problem and is there any way around it? Should i have set something to make it go off after Xseconds?
What a disapointment as the DVD recording is unwatchable.

Sorry if this subject has been brought up before
Since the beeb has taken over Terrestrial TV is it possible for them to update the software so that the onscreen graphics can be changed so that the ONdigital idents will not there anymore?

Maybe this seems a little silly but I’ve noticed that some on screen things provided by the ITVD box disappear on certain channels.
For example, on MTV Channel 33 there is no channel there at all, and if I press the MUTE button then the sound stops and a little speaker graphic appears on screen. However, If I do the same on BBC1, the little graphic does not appear, only if I do it as soon as I change channel because after about 3 seconds, no more onscreen things display. If I set the timer, and the press red thing comes on when the programme is about to start and I press red, the bar which displays the info does not appear, it only does this on closed channels which have no video feed. The same does for the change channel box which is supposed to pop up when you type the numbers in. The info now/next thing does appear.
Does anyone know why this is and how this can be fixed?

Has anyone else seen the new onscreen logos for BBC Choice?
I know that in this day of multi-channel TV, companies need to identify their products, but BBC Choice seems to have taken this a bit too far.
Not content with having the ‘BBC CHOICE’ logo plastered over the screen, they also have their website address, and what made me even more angry was the introduction of a third logo for new programmes.
While watching “The Practice” last night the word ‘NEW’ was constantly onscreen in the upper right-hand corner, and to make it even more noticable they included 2 arrows pointing to the word ‘New’
-> NEW

I recorded the programme “When Planes Go Down” which was on C5 last week through the OD box because it’s a much better picture than the normal C5 reception.
When I came to watch it there was a man permanently in the bottom right-hand corner using sign language to interpret what was said onscreen.
Is it possible to not have this facility switched on?
It was not shown on the normal C5 channel only through OD.
I didn’t have subtitles switched on.
Thanks in advance for any help.

I see that TVyou, NI’s version of ITV2 now has onscreen programme guide listings.
Well done, it only took a year.

Why do most TV channels, apart from BBC 1, 2 and ITV, insist on having their logo onscreen? At best it can be quite an irritant, at worst it can get in the way of part of the picture.
To access these channels you need digital TV so have easy access to info about each channel so these onscreen logos should not be necessary.

Just spotted one at the end of the Screenwipe repeat just now, before the continuity announcer babbled all over the ‘rude’ end credits.
“BBC4 – a place to think”? No, just a place to dumb down like all the other BBC channels(!)
