Sky Channels Returning To Virgin Tv Virgin Media TV On Demand

Wednesday, August 12th, 2009

I do apologise if there is already a thread on this.

A few months ago the media reported that new sky and Virgin bosses where in discussions with regards to returning the channels that sky removed from virgins platform.

Well now its all gone very quiet, does any one have any news?

I’ve finally decided to cancell itv digital.

However, stupidly i threw away the packaging for the digital box soon after getting it.

Apologies if this topic has come up before. Has anyone cancelled their OnD contract after the first year, and if so did they have to send the box back or was it collected ?

Returning Modem after cancelling Virgin Media Broadband

Monday, February 23rd, 2009

I had NTL then Virgin Cable internet only for around four years, always on top package.

Moved to a non-cable area after cancelling and all seemed ok, I left the cable modem on the old place knowing to it to be useless to me maybe of use to the new tenant if he wants their services.

Now Virgin have sent me the last bill for part month, nothing wrong with that but I’m a bit concerned with the rather strong warning box on the bill about the CM being the property of VM and if not returned I’ll be charged for it.

Do they enforce this now? They never mentioned returning it to them or how to – too late now it’s 50 miles away….

It was an NTL:200 if it makes any difference!

Cheers!

Returning to NTL Virgin Media TV and Phone

Friday, February 20th, 2009

Hey guys,

I have just moved into an NTL enabled street and my flat has all the connections for NTL – I called them and they are coming to install it on Friday afternoon.

I initially wanted just the base pack but they are upgrading me for free for 1 month to the family pack.

I’ve a few questions:
Where can I find a complete list of channels on both packages?
What will my billing date be (bearing in mind they are installing it on the 24th March and I signed the “deal” on the 22nd March) and will I be billed more for the first month in terms of paying in advance?
What has changed since the last time I’ve been with them (6 months ago)
When should I phone to cancel the free upgrade?

Cheers,

Rick.

Returning an extra box? Virgin Media TV and Phone

Friday, February 20th, 2009

I’m thinking of cancel one of the our cable boxes, we have two in total and had both for about 2-3 years. If I ring and ask to canel one, do they do it immediately and collect a few days later or do I have to give a months notice? Looking at our bill, the billing period is the 26th-25th of each month, so at the moment its paid up until 25th feb.

returning to BT advice needed Virgin Media TV and Phone

Friday, February 20th, 2009

Once I used to be with BT. I got my telly from a piped in cable network called redifusion (which was paid for in the rent). Then redifusion closed down. NTL came along and offered both for a reasonable price per month. I was happy with this plus a dialup internet conection at 1p per minute. Then NTL after a lot of try’s convinced me to have unlimited dialup for £10.00 a month. Then, again after many try’s convined me to try broadband at half price of £8.99 per month. I am now paying on average £45.00 to NTL per month for telivision, phone and broadband. In september my broadband will cost the full price of £17.99 a month. It all keeps creaping up. Now I have desided to go back to where I was happy. BT said “if I have a BT white box in my house it would cost me NOTHING to return. Sadly I dont, it was removed by the NTL engineer likely at my permission. Would BT accept a master box (a bought one), reinstaled by me. Or must it be a BT one instaled by a BT engineer. Any advice would be helpfull.

NTL New / Returning Customer Virgin Media TV and Phone

Friday, February 20th, 2009

I have convinced my mother to return to NTL for her telephone service as with BT whould has to pay the line rental 3 months in advance. That would not normally be a problem, however, after the amounts collected by direct debit have been deducted from the telephone bill, she is still around £80 short, even though she is on Option 3, (she makes calls to mobiles, and unavoidable 0870 / 0845 numbers etc).

She has therefore gone with my suggestion to go with NTL, (as even £25 a month is easier to find then £75 once every 3 months in a lump sum), and as she is going on the Talk Unlimited package for telephone she is getting free TV for a year, (well base pack anyway), but has decided to pay the £8.50 extra per month for the family pack.

Thing is, When I moved back in the late 1990’s, I decided that I sould have Sky + installed when it launched in 2001. I am not to bothered about losing Sky+ long term, as I know that the part of the country that I am moving to has Telewest, (who are launching a similar product later in the year). My main question however is, since she last had NTL Digital TV, (before I had Sky installed, and since seeing it a a friends house last year), have things imporoved much, or should I downgrade her to a basic Sky family pack without the Sky+ functionality?

Your Comments are much arrpeciated, however I sould point out now that I am not wanting this turned into a Sky V NTL thread.

Thanks,

Chris

Contact at NTL for returning STB? Virgin Media TV and Phone

Friday, February 20th, 2009

I cancelled about 6 months ago and they still haven’t collected the STB/Cable modem I had.

I’ve tried ringing several times and they’ve said on various times, that they’ll send some packaging to put it in or somebody would get in touch but nothing yet.

Anybody got a postal/fax machine address for somebody reasonably high up in the NTL group.

I want to give them an ultimatum to provide some means of returning it or it gets binned. I’ve been reasonable enough over this but if they’re not going to help me, what else can I do!
