I just got Virgin installed today at it seems that the OD service seems to have a “temporary” probably quite frequently.
Hi, I got V+ installed on Saturday and get the following message when trying to view certain shows:-
“On Demand is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later…”
This is happening on quite a few shows. If anybody could just check ‘Dead Ringers’ on catch up tv, or “The Closer” ep01 on Virgin Central? I can view neither.
Could it be a problem at VM’s end or is it with my set-top-box? Is there anything I can do to fix the problem or should I give customer services a call.
Thanks for any help.
Apologies if this seems like a stupid question.
When the NTL guy installed my cable box many months ago, he gave me a lot of slack cable, which has now got rather tangled up with things like TV stands and book cases and other immovable objects. After spending a little while trying to disentangle it with little success I came to the conclusion that disconnecting the cable box from the coax, is the easiest way to sort the mess out. (Disconnect, Untangle, Tidy, Reconnect).
However somebody (I forget who) told me that if I do this, when I reconnect the STB will not work because of some special network magic that NTL use. Is this correct, or can I disconnect (ignoring t&c’s etc.) with inpunity.
Any advice or previous experience on this matter, that doesn’t involve paying a £50 (fifty!!) call out fee to our new NTL overlords would be appreciated.
