In VM area’s why don’t they also provide a standalone VoD service for people who want just a VoD service if they have Sky HD for example like we do?

This way, VM get into Sky homes and enable their presence before Sky get’s their own service up and running? It would also allow them to market more efficiently their TV/Broadband services and other services as they come along into our household and although we’d be using two separate boxes we could handle the switching back n forth.

It’s certainly something we’d be interested in if the price was right – £10 p/month for example – let’s face it the content is there and it’s doing nothing in our household so why not allow us access to this service on it’s own and do one over Sky? It would be a WIN WIN situation for VM as by the time Sky’s service arrives they should have a bigger library and be making £10 extra every month per household that takes the service.

Well after today’s launch what do we all think of the new channels? I.e. TMF, The Hits, UK History, and for the DTT only people what do you think of the Sky Channels added? I have to say my favourite channel so far is TMF. What are your opinions?

Got a bit worried before coz the picture dropped out to a green screen with the hits DOG on it. Think they were just changing tracks or sumthin. It came on again with ‘Without Me’ by Eminem then they started ‘Yellow’ by Coldplay and it stopped and was replaced by ‘In My Place’.

Anyone know whats going on??

Do you think it will harm the development of DAB as a service?

Incidentally does anyone have any idea as to the schedule for new BBC DAB transmitters. The Digital One and Local Multiplex information is readily available.

I personaly like it im 19 and have been holding on to find out if i was get pay for sky digi in my room to get freeview and i think we have a winner.

The channels from MTV and EMAP have swung it for me.

I have cable in the main room (full package) so dont need much and thsi will suit my needs.

From what ive seen a lot of you are not happy with the line up why?

Also will Sky Tavel become sky one extra like some people think when its launched in Jan or will it have to stay as sky travel now?

Here with my Pace DTVA, getting signal off The Wrekin (I think), I have a channel called ‘No Name’ on channel 100, which is broadcasting…

a black screen!!

Anyone any idea what this is about – its not broadcasting anything!

Right, I’ve had enough. I email Pioneer asking for an explaination and all they say is

“We have no plans for an update.”

So let’s rebel. It doesn’t matter whether you have a Pioneer box or not, but please email Pioneer and ask them WHY they are not having an update.

Remember to include the advantages:

“Your customers would be very happy” etc etc
“Great boost for Pioneer” etc

If enough of us email them perhaps they will get the hint!

Why do DTT subscribers beleive Sky One could be the new entertianment channel or E4????

Considering er they are er PAY-TV channels with mostly PAY-TV contracts for the shows worth watching do people think they might become FTV?????????????????????????

After all these programmess are sold separatly to the BBC/C4 (mainly) as FTV contracts so maximising money made from selling two contracts for the producers.
