Yea, and thats only because there is sh*t all on that Catch-Up service, APART from BBC Programs.
Honestly, if they updated the thing with regular content from their own channels, like Bravo and Living, as much as the iPlayer is updated, it would be much better.
Of course, this IS Virgin Media. We sort of expect this sort of thing to happen.
Its like the whole Catch Up OD service relies on the iPlayer now. Without it, you would have 10 Programs a week on there! And even then, I dont think that VM are the people that do all the BBC stuff. I believe that is done by some people at the Beeb, so thats even more of a lazy reputation that VM get.

Ok I just spotted this bit of good news from this very site :
An official ntl source has updated us on the progress of cable modem trials currently taking place in Manchester, a former CWC franchise:
“ntl’s trials in Manchester are progressing well. They are now in the 3rd week. Please note that ntl will be bringing the first STB cable modem in the world to the market. This has taken an unprecedented amount of work (more than 300 people full time – many CCIEs) to achieve this in the 6 months it has been. I cannot bring myself to tell you how many £10ms have been invested. We are very close to being ready, but will launch only when we have a service to be proud of.”
Reported by James Welsh.
I couldnt help but notice
“but will launch only when we have a service to be proud of”
Now this definatly does confirm that bit of news is true, only NTL would say such a thing !
Lets see what “We are very close too being ready” means by NTLs standards? 6 months?!
We will see soon enough.

Extremely disappointed to find that none of the BBC’s FA Cup third round coverage is coming our way in HD. Last season we had FA Cup and England internationals on BBC HD, but this season’s first big games are nowhere to be seen on the schedules. What makes this even more surprising is that the BBC has the pick of the 3rd round games with coverage of the games featuring Man U, Arsenal and Newcastle, all big audience pullers.
Can anyone explain this, especially given the fanfare and promise of the BBC’s Head of Sport when the Beeb’s HD channel was confirmed (quoted here).

Sit-Up TV is launching a third shopping channel on Sky Digital and ntl.
Speed Auction TV will stage auctions lasting for a maximum of four minutes, which the broadcaster hopes will attract a younger audience than sister channels bid TV and price-drop TV.
Last week Sit-up disclosed plans to launch a Bad Movies channel, offering some of the worst Hollywood has to offer when it launches on the Sky platform from this spring.
Sit-Up is investing £5m in the channel and a second new channel offering, Matinee.

Is there a One For All [or similar] third party remote control that works the NTL digital Pace box? I checked the One For All site but I can’t find one that lists the Pace digital box.
TIA

The BBC’s new £15m gaelic television channel has lost a third of its audience since it was launched last September. Viewing figures fell from 610,000 in the four weeks following its launch to 400,000 in November and December. BBC Scotland said it expects that figure to fall further, to about 250,000.
Gaelic TV station loses a third of its viewers
of course, as long as we are all paying a licence fee, the BBC needs to fulfil its public service remit regardless of what the viewing figures are.
anyway if they could give BBC Alba a Freeview platform it would be more accessible which would help its viewing figures i am sure

Not only do they switch the match to BBC2, they then switch back just as what could have been the crucial penalty was about to be taken

Hope i’m asking this in the right forum. There’s been a lot of talk of VM buying up VOD rights to shows but it always seems to be that VOD rights are always second or third play rights after a series has already aired
is it possible to get VOD rights as first play and have say an entire series of 24 up there to view when you want.
I know others have stated this will be the way TV will be going in the future but if VOD is always third play rights I can’t see this happening any time soon.
