I am in Kent area and have had no update on Catch Up TV since Saturday. Tried calling VM but got the Indian Call Centre who were confused and said i needed to reboot – this hasnt worked – anyone else having problems? Loathe to call VM again as it is just a waste of time talking to the Indian Call Centre….
Anyone have any idea how quickly the iPlayer updates in Virgin as I really would like to see the Bill Gates How a Geek changed the world which seems to be available on the website but not cable.
I thought both of these were supposed to have the same content?
There is an interview in the guardian with the Administrators that clarifies the situation:
http://media.guardian.co.uk/broadcas…858226,00.html
They state that anyone owed over £40 will not be pursued for any more money with any vigor.
HOWEVER, they also state that other subscribers face having a “black mark” placed on their credit file and that they are weighing up the costs of taking people to court. They are also considering employing debt collection agencies to recover the money.
The article also mentions that they will concentrate their initial efforts on chasing people who paid by direct debit (Presumably it is easier for them to take the £39.99 owed?)
The article goes on to state that they have a number of buyers lined up for the unwanted boxes.
This may sound dumb (if it is then play nice anyway)
but if I have a recording, on VHS, of one of the channels that carried an STB’s update then couldn’t I hook my VHS’s RF output to the RF input of STB and start the update process?
This would of course be for people who missed an update or folk like me who’s STB is stuck in update mode.
But in theory could this work and if so does anyone have any such broadcast for a Philips DTX 6372
(yeah I know this is a loooooooong shot!)

I am sorry I can not help.

I know some boxes were going to be updated but why not Pace.
I thought it would be a good idea to start a new thead where we could post any REAL info we have on Freeview as it takes ages to find any information on this forum anymore. There is simply too many threads with the same rumours and no facts.
There is still many things to happen on Freeview, we have the negotiations with Turner, the fixing of the now&next system, the proposed change of SDN and Digital 3&4 multiplexes to 16QAM, the proposed launch of C4Extra, the long awaited launch of BBC Three, Ftn, UKTV, Smash hits and kerrang radio. Anything else I’ve missed out?
If anyone has any info please post it here but only with links or genuine e mails.

The only thing it seems to update is the radio bug. You can now have a radio station on for longer than a minute without having to reset the box when you want to go back to a TV station.
