Over the last couple of days, i’ve noticed that when watching BBC2 on my widescreen sony, when they are broadcasting a 4:3 picture (like the american version of the weakest link on right now) my Pace DTVA seems to be putting the TV into 14:9 mode, even if I manually select 4:3 on the TV remote and switch channels to BBC1 and back to BBC2, it makes the TV go into 14:9 mode. anyone else experiencing this? I think they are transmitting the wrong AFD code. 4:3 pictures on five and ITV make the TV go into 4:3 mode as expected.

Do any of the current boxes offer ‘Line 23 Widescreen switching’? I used to own a Nokia OnDigital box (I gave up my sub about 2 months before they went under…), and that was one of the best features for me!
Mark.

Is Sky News going to be in widescreen like on DSat? It’s about to be switched soon I believe. If so, are there limitations on the DTT platform to stop it going widescreen on Freeview too? I hope it does as I think it means that Sky are serious about DTT.

Any ideas as to why UKHistory is not transmitting 16:9 programmes in 16:9?
An example of this daft practise is “Allies at War”. A programme that was repeated on BBC2 earlier this week, in it’s original 16:9. Now, on UKHistory it’s 4:3(or 14:9). Why?

Channel 14 puts my TV into Wide mode but there isn’t any picture! It’s operated by Channel 4 according to my Pace DTVA. Strange…

Hi
Have just looked at THE HITS but very disappointed not in widescreen. With the crap software im my MATSUI 28″ I hoped at least some compensation of new channels in widescreen.
Does anybody know if any of them will be.
:’(
Thanks

Anyone else lost the widescreen signal since the new channels were added, or do I have to get my tv looked at? Basically, my tv (JVC AWC32 – I think) is no longer auto-detecting when the picture is widescreen. It’s only happened in the last two days.

Does anyone know of any manufacturers who sell or plan to bring out small/portable wide screen digital TVs??
Like many people I’ve got Sky Digital, DTT and a nice Widescreen TV in the lounge. However, in the bedroom and the office I have naff 4:3 analogue TVs. I’m sure I can’t be the only person who wants to maintain digital and widescreen use in other rooms without buying a massive TV each time?!
