Anyone agree?
I always get some crappy error message
Today’s is 1092, and when it does work it wants me to ring Virgin as it’s managed to lose the PIN!
In the error sheet it has error 165 “fail to get connection params” with STB IP unavailable and CA IPPV Status ‘unknown’ with card status ‘waiting’.

I have been using an aerial booster for analogue signals for some years as my aerial is in the loft.
I expected to have to purchase a new aerial for freeview. However the Grundig box works very well with the booster. No booster no signal.
Before going out to buy a new aerial try a booster.

Watching BBC 4 from Mux B as we speak – assuming that the new stuff is indeed 16QAM!!
I only get one copy of the “switching” channels and they are the new versions on B.

According to Emily Bell in the Guardian, the History Channel (part Sky owned?) have complained to the Government about the launch of UK History as a FTA channel. (Good timing, wait until the launch date is announced, and then pounce!)
Apparently a previous Tory Secretary of State ruled that BBC Worldwide could only launch 8 UK TV channels and UK History is “one over the eight” (as is, presumably, UK Home Style? MC).
She implies that BBC Worldwide just went ahead with the plan, hoping that no one would remember the dark days before the forces of reaction were swept aside in the “Anyone but the Tories” General Election, or care.
I suppose this may mean that BBC Worldwide have to lean on Flextech to get them to agree to use UK Horizons and UK Style instead.

Got my son Xbox live for his Xbox 360 and just realised my Belkin Router won’t allow me to have two Xbox’s each on Xbox live at the same time with “Open” NAT.
With my current Belkin Router it is only possible to achieve “Open” NAT with one Xbox 360 at a time (by assigning both Xbox a static ip address then port forwarding the usual ports for this address as far as the Belkin Router allows) and the router does not allow you to port forward the same port to two different ip addresses. Currently both Xbox’s have the same static ip address so we have to take it in turns to go on Xbox Live !
Hence the question is does anyone have a “Cable Router” which definitely works with 2 Xbox 360s on Xbox Live at the same time providing “Open NAT” ?
Martin
Note – I have posted this on the DS Xbox 360 forum aswell but posted it here as well as it is a cable modem I need as I am a VM Cable customer.

I was subscribed to NTL: Home Family Pack inc Line Rental and 600Kb/s Broadband. I phoned to cancel it all on the 7th June, they said okay no probs, (For once they didn’t try to blag me with offers).
So the 19th of june arrives and BT take over my phone number, so NTL no longer provide me with Line Rental, then on the 7th July I lose all my services as expected (TV channels go except. BBC, ITV, etc) and my broadband stops.
However the next few days, I put my STB back in the mains and wired up the Broadband like you do, and to my surprise the broadband works, this very message is proof! The phone line is still dead as disco and the TV channels are still gone though.
Should I tell them or should I enjoy it why I can?
Also do you think I’ll be liable to pay for it? even though its there fault, I mean I did cancel it, and they have de-activated everything but the Broadband, so its not my problem really, I’ve done my part. Maybe if they was a little more hasty in picking up this STB it wouldn’t be an issue
And it anyone starts babbling morality issues in reply to this, then really save your time, I’m not interested in any “ripping off cable co’s” comments, its tic for tac in my book

picked up a Medion Universal Remote MD81035 ..
http://www.suomenschneider.fi/produc…es/MD81035.jpg
today, and using the “learn” function, I managed to program all necessary functions of my V+ remote into it and it works fine.
actually, it learnt everything i had which was pretty cool – woolies had them marked down to £9.95 – allegedly from £49.95 (which I find hard to believe)
anyway, just thought i’d share if anyone was looking for an alternative to the V+ remote.

I currently have a Thor HDC 100 HDMI switch box to switch between my SkyHD, upscaled DVD player and TvDrive. It used to work with all three but now it doesn’t work with the TVDrive. I get no picture. When in menus I see them but no moving TV pctures. I presume it is something to do with HDCP. As I say it used to work, then 1 day last year it stopped and hasn’t worked since.
Can anyone recommend a HDMI switcher that workes with the old TV Drive?
